The musician & anthropologist Raúl Rodriguez prepares the release of his new audio book “La Raiz Eléctrica” (expected 22nd September 2017), converging investigation and experimentation, giving us an intercultural journey through new music whilst naturally merging genres such as Flamenco, Afrobeat, Psychedelia, Cuban sounds, Haiti rhythms, Andalusian rock, and American Singer-songwriter, creating a brand new sound; “Electronic-Afro-Flamenco”.
After his latest travels and recent connections with musicians such as Jackson Browne, Tony Allen, Habib Koité, Jonathon Wilson & Phil Manzanera, Raúl Rodriguez returns with his new work, where he has clearly developed a different sound, incorporating new instruments and maintaining continuity to his studies about the Afro-American presence in Andalucia, once again relating to anthropological investigation and musical creativity.
After publishing his first solo Project “Razón de Son” (FOL Música, 2014), which was considered by the national and international media as one of the best albums of the year and was also performed live at many well-known venues across the world; Raúl Rodriguez releases his latest work, “La Raíz Eléctrica”.
A step forward in respect to his previous audiobook which was based on the investigation on the relationships between the African dispersion and flamenco, an experiment of creative dialogue which enforces the historical connection and helps us visualize a new musical twin and integrator.
La Raíz Eléctrica will be published on the 22nd of September 2017 in audiobook format. We will keep you informed if anything changes.
